Last updated: 08/30/2026
This policy describes how Scylla Interactive, operator of the website scylla-interactive.com (hereinafter "the Site", "we"), collects, uses, and protects your personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act ("loi Informatique et Libertés").
1.1 Data controller
The controller for the data collected on the Site is Scylla Interactive, who can be contacted via the Site's "Contact us" form.
1.2 Data collected
Depending on your use of the Site, we may collect:
your display name and email address, upon registration;
your IP address, for security and moderation purposes;
information you choose to provide on your profile (avatar, signature, biography, etc.);
the Content you post (posts, topics, comments, files, reviews, etc.);
in the event of a purchase in the shop: the products purchased, the amount, and the transaction status — payment data (card number, etc.) is processed directly by our payment providers (Stripe and/or PayPal) and is never stored by us;
non-identifying technical data (browser type, device) for statistical purposes;
if you log in via a third-party account (Google, and Discord where available), the basic information transmitted by that service (name, associated email address), in accordance with your authorization.
1.3 Purposes and legal bases for processing
Your data is used to:
create and manage your account (performance of the contract to use the Site);
moderate and secure the Site, in particular to prevent spam and abuse (legitimate interest);
send notifications related to your activity and, if you consent, communications about Site news (consent);
process your orders, where applicable (performance of the contract);
compile anonymized usage statistics (legitimate interest).
1.4 Recipients of the data
Your data is accessible only to the Site's moderation/administration team and, where applicable, to our technical service providers: hosting provider (Hostinger), payment providers (Stripe, PayPal), anti-spam protection service (Google reCAPTCHA), to the extent strictly necessary for their tasks. We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
Some of these providers may be located outside the European Union (in particular in the United States); any such transfer is then governed by the appropriate safeguards provided by these providers (standard contractual clauses, certifications, etc.).
1.5 Retention period
Your data is kept for as long as your account remains active, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period after its deletion, unless a longer legal retention period applies (in particular for commercial and accounting purposes). Your IP address is retained for a limited period for security purposes.
1.6 Your rights
In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to port your data and to define directives regarding what happens to it after your death. You may exercise these rights via the Site's "Contact us" form.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL) — www.cnil.fr — if you believe that the processing of your data does not comply with the applicable regulations.
1.7 Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.
1.8 Changes
This policy may be amended at any time. In the event of a substantial change, you may be asked to review it again.
2. Cookie Policy
The Site uses cookies, i.e. small text files stored on your device, to ensure it functions properly and to improve your experience.
Cookies used:
Strictly necessary cookies: essential for the Site to function (keeping you logged in, security, remembering your display preferences). They cannot be disabled without affecting how the Site works.
Audience measurement cookies: where applicable, to understand Site traffic in an anonymized way.
Third-party cookies: the Site uses Google reCAPTCHA (anti-spam protection), which sets its own cookies, as well as the third-party login services you choose to use (Google, and Discord where available).
You can configure your browser to refuse non-essential cookies; some Site features may then no longer work properly.
